    SDLC Partners is looking for a user-experience designer responsible for conceiving and conducting user research, interviews and surveys, and translating them into sitemaps, wireframes and prototypes. You will also design the overall functionality of the product and iterate upon it to ensure a great user experience. Depending on your interests, you may also be responsible for detailed graphic design and/or front-end web implementation.

    Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with a cross-functional team that includes business analysts, engineers, project managers, and clients in order to create simple, easy-to-use software
    • Develop research plans to collect field data appropriate to the problem
    • Conduct insightful field interviews and observations
    • Facilitate co-design sessions with the most senior staff from client organizations
    • Collaborate with project team to synthesize data into meaningful findings
    • Develop models that ground the team in a common language and purpose
    • Translate findings into wireframes and mockups that lead to intuitive user experiences
    • Leverage your expertise in human psychology and perception to design intuitive interfaces
    • Develop elegant solutions to design problem
    • Design animations and interactions that bring your designs to life
    • Iteratively test your designs with end users
    • Present and justify designs to peers and client senior staff
    • Defend the conceptual integrity of the design throughout the project lifecycle

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in design, computer science, or psychology. Preference will be given to candidates with advanced degrees in relevant disciplines, particularly interdisciplinary studies like Human-Computer Interaction.
    • Three or more years of UX design experience. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience designing complex solutions for complete digital environments
    • Preference will be given to candidates who are fluent in the LUMA Institute’s Taxonomy of Innovation
    • Demonstrate expertise with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
    • Demonstrate expertise in UX software such as InVision, Balsamiq, Axure, Sketch, Principle, etc…
    • Preference will be given to candidates who have HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills
    • Deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design
    • Demonstrate creative confidence while being open to receiving feedback and constructive criticism
    • Be comfortable with ambiguity and msking decisions with imperfect information
    • Speak confidently and intelligently about your process, ideas, and solutions
    • Focus on the details, but know that it will never be perfect
    • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the importance of user-centered design
    • Be willing to help teammates, share knowledge and experience with them, and learn from them
    • Research and showcase knowledge in the industry’s latest trends and technologies
